Where the 3-Series is the most popular BMW starter platform; the 5-Series is usually the model that most covet. Optional engines abound with the twin turbo 3.0L inline 6 being the base offering, the engine produces 300hp 300ft-lb torque. Stepping up to the V-8 engine there is a 4.8L 360hp version or a de-stroked 4.4L twin turbo monster that produces 400hp 400lb-ft torque. Transmission choices range from a 6-speed manual, to a 6-speed auto and rounding out the list a 7-speed auto shift. The 528i has a natural aspirated engines and the 535i is the more sporty with the twin turbo engines.
